Do You Need Vitamins Or B-12 While On The HCG Diet?

I get asked a lot if you need any other supplements, vitamins or B-12 while on the HCG diet. This is a pretty important question and a lot of misinformation is out there on this subject.

My experience tells me that besides the HCG you do NOT need anything else while on the HCG diet.

A lot of companies try to get you to buy extra supplements and a lot of them push their B-12 products and some oral providers even include B-12 into their HCG formula.

Let me be very clear: this is all marketing hype and you don’t need anything else while on the HCG diet. These companies are just looking for something extra to sell you.

In fact I find the fewer supplements you take the better you do. I even go so far as to recommend stopping all supplements and vitamins while on the HCG diet. Even in Dr. Simeons Pounds and Inches guide he states that you don’t need any additional supplements because your fat stores release plenty during the low calorie diet phase.

So no, you don’t need anything extra. However, once you are off the low calorie phase you can start taking your regular vitamins or fish oil or whatever it is you like to take. But while on the low calorie phase avoid it as it may negatively effect your weight loss.

I know a lot of people shy away from the HCG diet because they are told not to take their regular vitamins and they can’t bear the thought of not taking them. But you have to realize that it’s only for a few short weeks while on the low calorie diet and it’s not forever. Once you are off the low calorie diet you can absolutely restart your vitamins and supplements.

Plus you also have to take into consideration that you are taking your supplements and vitamins to become healthier. But wouldn’t you think losing all that fat would be a whole lot more healthier than taking a vitamin for a couple weeks?! Of course!

So don’t worry about it and lose the weight like you should, and then worry about your vitamins. Your health and body will thank you!
